Ithaca, with its two colleges and divergent lifestyles, has many varied and wonderful restaurants. We have three favorites. The Boatyard Grill is located on the water in downtown Ithaca. It is one of those restaurants where you will not mind waiting for a table. The John Thomas Steak House, near Ithaca College, is a special occasion restaurant. It is the one place where we can spend well over $100 for dinner for two, and not mind. The Antlers is a country inn that is on the other side of Ithaca. So cozy and beautiful, it is always worth the extra few minutes. Corning is the shortest drive of the 3 nearby cities. Market Street was rebuilt after the 1972 flood and is a wonderful shopping street with many special restaurants on the street or within short walking distance. The London Underground has been a special stop for years. The Market Street Brewing Company creates great beer, has a fantastic eclectic menu with great outdoor seating. Market Street's newest restaurant, Tony R's Seafood and Steakhouse, is housed in an old bank. They have a private room in the bank's vault, and great food. For those of you who shop at Wegman's Markets, there is one at the beginning of the street. Yes, it includes a very special dining area.
Rosemary's Legacy is also centered (click on The Village and Area Attractions) within short driving distance of some very fine Finger Lakes eateries. But if driving 20 to 30 minutes is not what you have in mind, or if leaving the lovely confines of Rosemary's Legacy is not what you want to do, you may want to consider Table for Two catering. This (very) local catering concern can prepare for you a sumptuous breakfast, a light (or heavy) lunch, a five star dinner or a cook-out by the pool. It is best to make those plans when you are booking your stay, but "last minute" is sometimes possible. Rosemary's Legacy is not yet a Bed & Breakfast. If you are interested in breakfast, Table for Two can save you the hassle of getting up, getting dressed and driving down the street. Maryalie calls it "eating in your jammies." Hot coffee or tea, fruit juice, freshly baked muffins or biscuits, freshly cut fruit, and our entree of the day (quiches, omelettes, frittatas, French toast, pancakes, or waffles) are available for $25 for two. Let us know when making your reservation or at check-in. Rosemary's Legacy also has specially planned Packages and Excursions. Each includes two gourmet breakfasts and one very special dining experience. After a very short walk down the street, you will find the Falls Motel Lounge. This rustic, former stable has a wonderful selection of New York State wines and a tasty snack, sandwich and dinner menu. Friday night fish fry, at the Lounge, is a frequent stop of ours. Within five minutes of Rosemary's Legacy are several other fine area restaurants. Classic Chef's in Montour Falls and Savard's in Watkins Glen are two wonderful family stops. Also in Watkins Glen, you can find, in the center of town, the area's finest Italian cuisine at Jerlando's. The rustic and charming Seneca Lodge, and the unique Rooster Fish Brewing Company & Wildflower Café are also popular stops in Watkins Glen. Glenora, Red Newt, and Stone Cat are winery restaurants also a short drive away. The Arnot Mall shopping area (a 20 minute drive) host these national chains: Ruby Tuesday, Applebees, Chili's, Friday's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and the Outback Steakhouse. Just a few minutes from there is an Elmira landmar krestaurant. Moretti's has the best steaks that we have ever eaten and we have eaten steaks all over the country.

Grocery Service For our extended stay guests, for the cost of the groceries plus a $25 handling fee, we can have the house stocked with groceries for you. E-mail us your grocery list with brands and sizes and we will travel to Wegman's, in Corning, and do your shopping before you arrive.
