At the end of Main Street of this picturesque village is one of the Finger Lake's most beautiful sites, She-Qua-Ga Falls.
If you travel to the top of 'The Falls" you can look out over the village. Behind you is the stream that causes the "Tumbling Waters."
In the spring of the year, from the front steps of Rosemary's Legacy, you can hear the water tumbling from the falls, just a short walk away.
The walk to "the Falls" and to "Town" takes less than five minutes. You will find the library and the town hall as buildings listed in the Historical Register of the United States. Just a few more steps down the street is the post office, a bank, the pharmacy, a lovely antique store, and several eateries.

The Library and Town Hall.
Other area attractions... No, Montour Falls is not the center of the universe, or even of the Finger Lakes, but it might seem that way when you are visiting. The famed Watkins Glen International Race Track is just a short drive away. The track is so close that during major race weekends you can hear the 700 horsepower engines from the backyard of Rosemary's Legacy. The Catharine Valley Walking Trail is just a five minute walk from Rosemary's front door. Watkins Glen and its famous gorge, Seneca Lake, and street of shops, which is highlighted by The Famous Brands Outlet (which is visited by shoppers from all over the country), is a five minute drive or even a quick bicycle trip away; as is Corning and the famed Glass Center, Rockwell Museum of Western Art, and historic Market Street of shops and eateries is a 20 minute drive away; as is Ithaca with its scenic gorges, Cornell University, Ithaca College, and downtown Commons shopping; as is Elmira and the Arnot Mall complex of shopping (the largest in the Southern Tier of NY), and the Mark Twain Study (on the campus of Elmira College - this country's first college founded to offer college education to women in 1855) and the Mark Twain family farm; as is Hammondsport with its many wineries, famed Glenn Curtis Museum, and beautiful downtown shopping area. If it is antiques that you are looking for - ALL of these areas have wonderful antique shopping. We would love to share our knowledge of these stores with you. ... and not lost in all of this, are the WINERIES!!! We certainly have our favorites. Perhaps we can suggest a tour for you.
